I don't have a screw gauge so I have no idea about the thickness but it definitely is way thicker and sturdier than the ones available locally. I use it to pack lunches and preserve foods in the freezer (after first wrapping it in a cling wrap). I have used it to cook food in the oven (not microwave) as well and it worked as expected.
