I originally bought these to replace some cracked, plastic lids for my glass containers and they have worked great so far. They're easy to wash and store. The variety of sizes makes it easy to find a size I need for my various needs. I've even used a rectangular-shaped lid to cover a round container! I've also found it helpful to use the lids on containers that don't normally come with a lid, such as a bowl, or, on a container that wouldn't normally fit a regular lid (e.g. container overfilling with food) to cut down on the need for having to tranfer to another container and not having to wash more dishes.+++Hint: You have to make sure the container you're using it on has dry edges otherwise they won't stick, which makes sense cuz what sticks to water.
These have worked great for us! I have several glass containers whose plastic lids broke. They are mostly water tight but I did have one container that ended up on its side leak out a little juice. Once I was able to take a lid off, remove some food and put it back on and stay in place. Most times however, the lid and the edges have to be dried off before putting back onto a container in order to have it stay in place. The two biggest lids do not fit any of my containers but i love them for tossing over a bowl or plate in the microwave to keep the splatters down. One of the lids got stained from tomato sauce but I have not run it through the dishwasher yet but rather hand washed it. I have added a picture with an unstinted lid for comparison. If it come clean I will update this. I would buy these again.
We bought these because we seemed to be going through saran wrap too fast. They stick really well to most of our kitchenware, but don't hold the greatest on our stainless steel bowl set. These are perfect for foodies like us who love to cook almost every day of the week! Keeps food sealed and ready to go !Pros:- Super sticky on glassware!- Much more durable than expected. I have no fear of these tearing- Machine washable.- take up very little space when storedCons:- They don't stick that great to stainless steel
I use this all the time. These are indispensable in my kitchen. It's helpful to wipe the container of any excess moisture to achieve a tight seal.
I bought these in July 2020 because I wanted to use less plastic wrap. I also bought another brand in July 2024. The ones I bought in July 2024 have already ripped. These, on the other hand, have not. They're noticeably thicker and still going strong 3.5 years later. Just for durability, they get 5 stars. At the same time, maybe that's why they aren't the easiest to stretch on to the container if it isn't the exact size, but it's not the manufacturer's fault for knowing my various bowl sizes. Because of that, some lids don't get used, or if they do, the seal won't be tight (I end up using a larger size). I'm willing to take the trade-off to have thicker material that doesn't rip and end up in landfill so soon.
